On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for a Senior Human Factors Specialist Inside IR35 for a 12 months contract based Hybrid 2-3 days in Salisbury.

As a Senior Human Factors Specialist, your main responsibilities will be:
Provide Human Factors support, in both lead and supporting roles, to:
* Health and safety (Human Factors) inspection and auditing activities
* Human Factors risk assessments (Safety Critical Task Analysis) for activities that could result in major accidents.
* Production of Human Factors Integration Plans for new build projects
* Carrying out Human Factors assessments on Safety Critical Equipment
* Human Factors training and awareness raising activities, including the development, production, design and delivery of new Human Factors training courses and materials and providing support to trainee Human Factors specialist(s)
* Development of Human Factors policy, procedures and guidance
* Supporting investigation of incidents, dangerous occurrences and near miss investigations
* Research and policy initiatives which involve Human Factors
* Undertake appropriate Health and Safety Management training and learning using Dstl's in-house training and development programme and resources
To develop and maintain links with Human Factor professionals in other organisations and relevant professional bodies (e.g. CIEHF)
Carrying out any other tasks and duties as may reasonably be required by the Corporate Health, Safety and Environmental Protection Team
Essential:
* Chartered Member of Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors
* Experience in Human Factors risk assessment of safety critical tasks that may lead to major accidents.
* Experience in Human factors integration in design - application of JSP 912 (for new build projects and safety critical equipment)
* Experience in Human factors based risk assessment techniques particularly safety critical task analysis (SCTA)
* Practical experience and understanding of managing risks in high hazard environments
Desirable:
* Experience of working on a site regulated under Control of major accident hazard regulations (or equivalent e.g. MACR)
* Experience of working in other high hazard industrial or research industries
* Experience of "Process" or "System" Safety for example JSP 912
* Awareness of the impact of human factors with regard to environmental protection
