Yardman Needed! (Telehandler License Required)
Location: Wolverhampton, WV3

Working Hours: 40 hrs per week - Mon - Fri (Start time 7:30am)

Contract Length: 6 months

The Yardman is responsible for ensuring the yard is kept clean, safe, and organised. This includes managing the storage of equipment and materials in designated areas, capturing all incoming and outgoing materials, and reporting damaged equipment or materials. The Yardman will also be required to work independently and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Yard Maintenance:

   • Ensure the yard is clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
   • Sweep and clear any debris, ensuring the workspace remains hazard-free.
   • Maintain clear access pathways for vehicles and personnel.

2. Storage and Organisation:

   • Store equipment and materials in designated areas according to company procedures.
   • Keep records of stock levels and report when materials need to be replenished.

3. Material Handling:

   • Accurately capture all incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
   • Ensure the proper handling and safekeeping of materials in the yard.
   • Assist in the unloading and loading of materials, ensuring safety and efficiency.

4. Reporting & Damage Control:

   • Report any damaged equipment or materials immediately to the Yard Manager or relevant authority.
   • Ensure any damage to the yard or equipment is reported and documented for insurance and safety purposes.

5. Administrative Duties:

   • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of materials and equipment.
   • Assist in keeping an inventory system updated with material movements (incoming/outgoing).
   • Ensure compliance with company procedures regarding documentation and reporting.

6. Driving and Equipment Operation:

   • Operate vehicles and machinery (including Telehandler) within the yard to move materials as needed.
   • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of any equipment used in the yard.

7. Health & Safety Compliance:

   • Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications & Skills

• Full valid driver s license.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Telehandler certification.
• Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Good communication skills.
