Infrastructure Support & Server Build Engineer
+ 4 month initial vontract
+ Hybrid role
+ 450 to 500 per day - Outside IR35

We are seeking a Server Build Engineer to join our team for an Operating System upgrade project. The role involves upgrading from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2019/2022 on a secure enterprise infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both high- and low-level design documents, implementing Windows Server builds, and provisioning mechanisms.Day to Day of the role:
Develop deployment strategies for multiple Windows Server builds.
Design automated server build processes and implement a HyperV infrastructure, including automated provisioning of VMs.
Work with MECM/SCCM for server deployment and application integration.
Design and implement a Microsoft Certificate Authority Solution.
Develop Windows Server firewall configurations and integrate packaged applications into the server provisioning.
Adhere to CESG guidance, DISA STIGs, and implement security profiles to meet these requirements.
Create Group Policy Objects and PowerShell scripts to support the infrastructure.
Produce high-level and low-level design documentation, transition plans, and user documentation.
Engage with fellow SMEs in an Agile/Scrum environment, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in deploying Windows Server builds and applications deployment.
Familiarity with operating in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Security Cleared to SC level or above, willing to progress to DV.
Systems and Software Engineering background, including all aspects of the solution lifecycle.
Experience with Windows Server 2019/2022 and automated deployment using MECM/SCCM.
Proficiency in Certificate Manager/Windows PKI, Windows 10 deployment, VBScript, and PowerShell.
Knowledge of virtualisation technologies and excellent communication skills.
Technical knowledge of MOD IT systems, security policies, and enforcement.
Understanding of JSP440, JSP480, and JSP604, and experience with End-User Applications implementation.
Desirable Skills:
VMWare PowerCLI.
Experience with military data communications systems.
