The Opportunity
As our client continues to deliver exciting and significant projects across their highways team, to help support them they’re looking for a n experienced Clerk of Works / Site Supervisor to join their team.
The role
Contract Estimated Duration – 6 months (possibly longer)
This role has been deemed inside of IR35
This role will be based in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Acting on behalf of a Local Authority (LA) to confirm the developer is complying with obligations, including:
Monitor all aspects of work carried out against the LA’s technically approved design package.
Monitor all aspects of work carried out against relevant aspects of MCHW and DMRB where relevant.
Keep an accurate daily site diary and photographic record of construction activities.
Monitor all site testing (CBR’s, asphalt cores etc.) are carried out to the correct standards and in line with LA’s requirements.
Check the contractor and developer records and delivers the relevant info within the H&S file.
Check As Built records are kept as works progress and are delivered to the LA’s in the correct format on completion of works.
Confirm all changes to the design are agreed in writing with DCC and the developer as they arise, but before they are constructed.
Work with the specialist structures CoW at the interface between the bridge and the highway.
Proactively work with the Principal Contractor and their supply chain so planned works meet requirements of the design, such as sectional pre-start meetings and joint reviews of upcoming works packages.
Have a duty of care regarding health, safety and environment and reporting unsafe practices or incidents. Method of reporting incidents to be confirmed by the LA.
Work within the site rules set out by the developer and Principal Contractor and undertake any inductions and training required of site-based staff.
CoW shall work with the developer, PC, LA, Local Planning Authority and external stakeholders as required to facilitate delivery of the scheme.You will have the following experience
Based on site full time.
Be able to drive to the site.
Appropriate CSCS card.
Sufficient knowledge of required Health and Safety legislation, current CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme certificateGet in touch now
