Power Electronics Engineer (Contract - 3 to 6 months)

📍 Location: Lincoln

⏳ Contract Length: 3 to 6 months

💰 Rate: £55 - £65 an hour

📆 Working Hours: 3 days on-site per week

The Opportunity:

A leading semiconductor company is looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to support on critical projects. This role is vital in ensuring the successful design, testing, and optimisation of high-power electronics systems (50kW to 500kW).

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Design and develop power electronic systems, including AC/DC and DC/DC converters

✅ Perform PCB testing and system testing to ensure optimal performance

✅ Work with flyback converters and other power conversion topologies

✅ Contribute technical expertise to resolve project bottlenecks

✅ Optimize system efficiency and reliability

Key Requirements:

✔ Proven experience in power electronics design

✔ Strong understanding of AC/DC and DC/DC converters

✔ Hands-on expertise with PCB and system testing

✔ Knowledge of flyback converters

✔ Experience working with 50kW to 500kW power levels

✔ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Desirable Skills:

➕ Experience with power electronics simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, SPICE)

➕ Knowledge of thermal management in high-power applications

➕ Familiarity with industry standards and compliance for power electronics

➕ Experience with IGBT, SiC, or GaN semiconductor technologies
