Location: Athens, GA 30606 Duration: 6-month Contract-to-hire Schedule: M-fri 8-4:30! Every third weekend PR: $25.73/hr - $38.00 Most of the role will be stationed in the lab- could be on your feet all day from time to time There is a shift diff on the weekends (it is $1.50) Day-to-Day: Independently performs laboratory procedures for which the technologist has been trained and demonstrated competency. Independently performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures, executing, interpreting and/or analyzing, in an accurate and timely manner. Qualifications: Certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) Comfortable with multitasking, strong with time management and an independent worker Experience with EPIC Microbio MT experience- not required Molecular testing experience Set up and plate reading experience Plusses: Experience with: Cepheid Infinity BioFire torch Hologic Panther MicroScan Maldi-tof technology Summary As a Medical Technologist specializing in Microbiology, you will be essential in performing laboratory procedures and specimen processing to support patient care. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will utilize your core , medical terminology, and vital signs assessment while gaining valuable hospital experience. Your role will also involve leveraging premium skills such as PCR and data management to ensure accurate test results. With no prior experience required, this position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment.
