Intro

Cedar is currently partnered with a global, PE Backed Media firm to secure an Interim Commercial Finance Director based in Central London. The role is a 6-month initial contract, paying a day rate between (Apply online only) per day, outside IR35.

The Role

As the Interim Commercial Finance Director, you will cover:

Planning, Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis:

• Develop and deliver realistic yet ambitious budgets and strategic financial action plans, ensuring market performance meets or exceeds targets.
• Collaborate with agency leadership to establish accurate P&L budgets, monthly forecasts, and flash forecasts, managing balanced risk.
• Support leadership in crafting investment plans for brand expansion within the market.
• Assist leadership teams in building realistic business and investment growth plans with clear ROI and success criteria.
• Prepare and present PowerPoint presentations on forecasts and budgets to Executive Leadership Team and global stakeholders.

• Oversee financial reporting and analysis of revenue/costs, providing ongoing insights into business opportunities and risks.
• Deliver regular updates and insightful analysis on monthly/quarterly business performance against targets and prior year performance.
• Manage salary, related costs, and operating expenses to maintain approved ratios and operating margin targets.

Client Contract Management:

• Lead finance negotiations for client contracts and serve as a key contact for client procurement teams.
• Align scope with fees in collaboration with agency leads.
• Collaborate with agency leads and legal teams for contract addendums and operational guidance.

New Business:

• Organize competitive and commercially viable new business proposals, as well as lead finance negotiations for new business contracts and act as a key contact for client procurement teams.
• Collaborate with clients, agency leads, and legal teams to finalize contracts for new clients.
• Partner with HR for regular salary benchmarking, salary banding reviews, and enforcement of contract observance and policy adherence.

Your Profile

You will ideally have:

• A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA/CA)
• Prior experience in an interim / contract role would be beneficial but not necessary.
• The rate of (Apply online only) per day represents a fair value, or logical increase on your previous salary or day rate.
