Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Fitter s Mate for work in Newcastle for a 4-6 month contract. This role will support technicians and involve a variety of tasks, including general labouring duties to ensure the smooth operation of the workshop.

Key Details:

• Position: Fitter s Mate
• Rate: £13 per hour PAYE plus holiday pay
• Contract: 4-6 months
• Location: Newcastle
• Hours: Full-time

Essential Requirements:

• B1 Counterbalance FLT license
• UK Driving License
• Strong willingness to work as part of a team and support day-to-day operations
• Ability to follow relevant HSE requirements and risk assessments
• Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning and maintaining workshop areas, including tidying workspaces and emptying bins
• Restocking items and transporting materials from the main store to local sites
• Assisting with 5S duties to improve workshop efficiency
• Loading and offloading materials using counterbalance FLT, overhead cranes, and pallet trucks/stackers
• Assisting technicians with daily tasks, including the use of hand and power tools
• Retrieving and returning tools and parts from storage
• Supporting small improvement projects using power and hand tools
• Performing general workshop activities to support day-to-day operations
