Functional Skills Teacher - Literacy & Numeracy - (SEMH & ASC) - Fareham

Academics are recruiting on behalf of a small school in Fareham which caters for pupils aged 14-19 years, specialising in both social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) and autism (ASC). They currently have 27 pupils on roll who are preparing to transition into further education, or working towards a career.

The are looking for a passionate Functional Skills Teacher / Instructor who is able to plan and deliver Functional Skills English and Maths / Literacy and Numeracy to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis.

This is the ideal role for someone with an English or Maths Degree, or A Level and is looking to get into teaching, or someone with experience of delivering English/Maths/Functional Skills but does not hold QTS.

All students have an EHCP and are offered tailored qualifications and experiences including vocational subjects, functional skills and GCSEs.

The suitable Functional Skills Teacher / Instructor will ideally have experience of supporting young people with SEMH and/or ASC, although not essential.

This is an on-going, temp to perm position starting ASAP.
