We are seeking a skilled and experienced 360 Excavator Operator to join our team at Aggregate Industries. This role is essential for supporting quarrying and construction operations, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely within the site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a 360-degree excavator to perform a variety of tasks, including excavation, material handling and site preparation.
Role - 360 Excavator Operator
Location: Aggregate Industries, Brook St, Chelmsford, CM1 1SU
Pay Rate: £15 per hour (1-hour unpaid break)
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday – Friday (06:00 – 16:00)
Overtime: Monday – Saturday at 1.5x and Sunday at 2.0x of the basic rate
Assignment Length: Temporary to permanent, initially for three months with the potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate a 360 excavator safely and efficiently within a quarry and construction environment.
* Dig trenches, foundations, and other required excavations, ensuring precision and stability.
* Load and transport aggregates, sand, and other materials to support site operations.
* Assist with the crushing and screening process by feeding materials into crushers.
* Use excavator attachments, such as hydraulic hammers, to break up concrete and rock.
* Ensure the excavator is maintained in good working order, conducting routine checks and reporting any faults.
* Follow strict health and safety regulations, wearing the required personal protective equipment at all times.
* Work closely with site supervisors, other operators, and ground workers to ensure smooth site operations.
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience operating a 360 excavator in a quarrying, construction, or aggregate handling environment.
* A valid CPCS or NPORS 360 Excavator ticket.
* A strong understanding of site safety procedures and compliance with health and safety regulations.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
* Good spatial awareness and the ability to operate machinery in confined or busy environments.
* A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
