Job Vacancy: Damp and Mould Technical Inspector (Initial 3 Month Contract with Possibility of Extension)

Start Date: ASAP - 3 Month Contract
Pay Rate: £20.57 Per Hour PAYE
Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week, 08:00 - 16:00
Job Purpose:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Inspector - Damp and Mould to join our dedicated Damp and Mould Team. Your role will be key in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service to residents, ensuring that damp and mould issues are identified promptly and effectively addressed.
You will carry out initial inspections, assess potential risks, and coordinate appropriate remedial actions. In more complex or high-value cases, you will escalate to the Building Surveyors within the team for specialist input and long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend properties to conduct thorough initial inspections relating to damp and mould concerns.
Identify immediate health and safety hazards and take swift action to mitigate risk to residents.
Raise and manage repair orders to resolve damp and mould issues and ensure homes were left safe and habitable.
Provide clear documentation, photographs, and notes from inspections using a PDA or reporting system.
Where needed, escalate complex or recurring cases to Building Surveyors for further investigation and long-term intervention planning.
Liaise closely with the Damp and Mould Operatives, residents, and internal teams to ensure a coordinated and efficient response.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, follow-up actions, and outcomes.
Support the Damp and Mould Team's objective to eradicate health hazards and improve living conditions for all residents.
Essential Requirements:
Experience in a technical or inspection-based role within housing, maintenance, or building services.
Strong understanding of damp and mould causes, treatments, and repair solutions.
Ability to identify hazards and take prompt, practical action to eliminate risks.
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with residents, contractors, and internal teams.
Confident in raising works orders and using job management or housing systems (e.g., PDA-based tools).
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
