Are you a Prototype Vehicle Build or Development Technician seeking a new opportunity to grow your career? ASL Technical are now working with a leading automotive manufacturer as they look to expand their Prototype Vehicle Build team.

Main Purpose of the Prototype / Development Vehicle Build Technician

• Work closely with the Prototype build team to construct high-quality, reliable prototype vehicles, bucks, and rigs for effective testing and development of future models.
• Support a diverse range of activities, including vehicle builds, fabrication, rig builds, and testing.
• Assist in the manufacture of prototype vehicle components.
• Manage multiple vehicle builds simultaneously, balancing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
• Develop strong working relationships with the Prototype build team to ensure efficient communication and quick problem resolution.
• Provide input on vehicle packaging and assembly for systems across all areas.

Responsibilities of the Prototype / Development Vehicle Build Technician

• Conduct full vehicle and component-level builds.
• Support and maintain prototype vehicles, contributing to system and component fault diagnosis.
• Operate and maintain support equipment for prototype vehicles.
• Utilize fabrication and basic machining skills to support vehicle build and modification.
• Interpret engineering specifications and technical drawings accurately.

Experience / Knowledge for the Prototype / Development Vehicle Build Technician

• Extensive experience in development vehicle builds, from full-vehicle assembly to component-level work.
• Strong understanding of vehicle architecture and associated systems.
• Good computer literacy skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A team player with the ability to motivate others and maintain high standards at all times.
