Job Title: Site Engineer - Structures (Highways)
Location: Gloucester
Rate: 420 - 450 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 12 months (potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP
The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer - Structures to join a major highways project in Gloucester. This is a long-term contract role, offering an excellent opportunity to work on a significant infrastructure project with a 12-month initial contract and potential extension.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key structures works, ensuring quality, safety, and technical compliance throughout the construction phase.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the setting out and delivery of structural elements, including bridges, retaining walls, and other highway structures.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and project quality standards.
• Assist in managing subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth project progress.
• Carry out quality control checks and inspections to maintain high construction standards.
• Support the project team in maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are strictly followed on-site.
• Liaise with designers, senior engineers, and stakeholders to resolve any technical issues.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Site Engineer working on highway structures projects.
• Strong understanding of bridges and structural works within major infrastructure projects.
• Experience with setting out, quality control, and site supervision.
• Knowledge of industry standards (e.g. DMRB, Eurocodes, CDM Regulations).
• Excellent awareness of health and safety regulations.
• CSCS card required; SMSTS or SSSTS is beneficial.
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

This role is inside IR35, offering a competitive daily rate of 420 - 450. Immediate start available.
