Freelance Site Manager – Tier 1 Background

Manchester (City Centre)

Start: ASAP

Duration: 12-15 weeks

Rate: Circa £300 per shift

Are you a highly experienced Freelance Site Manager with a Tier 1 main contractor background? Do you have a track record of delivering high-spec, multi-unit residential developments? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

THE ROLE

We’re working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor delivering a prestigious multi-block apartment scheme in the heart of Manchester. They are looking for a Freelance Site Manager to oversee key packages, ensuring high-quality standards, programme adherence, and smooth site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring H&S compliance and smooth project delivery

• Manage subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and timely progress

• Work closely with the Project Manager to maintain schedules and resolve on-site challenges

• Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring compliance with building regs and spec

• Report on progress, site logistics, and key milestones

THE CANDIDATE

• Proven experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor on large-scale residential projects

• Strong knowledge of high-rise, RC frame construction and internal fit-out

• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively

• Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certification

• Ability to hit the ground running and drive the project forward
