Job Description

CarmichaelUK are seeking a Materials Engineer to work on a Tier 1 highways project in Cambridgeshire.

Responsibilities will include:

Managing material, testing and ensuring compliance with works information.

Coordinate with site team, laboratory subcontractors, client inspectors and the supply chain to ensure that the works are delivered according to specifications and design requirements

On-site coaching and training for the delivery team to help understand processes and requirements

Supervise testing, review results and report on compliance in preparation for quality sign off and handover 

Conduct site briefings and prestart check-ins prior to the commencement of work

Ensure inspections and tests are carried out according to ITP's

Produce Non-conformance reports when works do not comply

Requirements:

Experience related to material engineering with a focus on earthworks and highways specification 600

Relevant material engineering experience on civil engineering projects, preferably major highways schemes

Knowledge of highways specifications and standards relevant to material testing

Experience in both on site and laboratory based material testing, including UKAS accreditation
