Senior Planner - Berkshire

A Berkshire Local Authority is seeking a Senior Planner who can handle a mixed caseload.The role will involve working on complex minor and mid-sized major applications. The Council is located in a primarily rural area with some small market towns and villages.The applications will typically be from 1, up to 50/60 residential units and urban extensions. You will also be working on some commercial applications such as change of use and shop fronts. You will be carrying out site visits independently and proactively managing your own workload. The role will involve liaising with other departments in the Council and Planning Consultancies and Developers whilst working on some large scale planning applications in the area. There will also be the opportunity to work on controversial planning applications and appeal cases, covering all types of development issues and presenting at Committee.You should hold experience within Local Authority Development Management processing minor and small major applications. The Council is also prepared to look at CV’s for Planning Officers seeking to make the step up to Senior and Planners looking to make a move from the private sector. Access to a car is required for this role.The role is Inside IR35 and the rate is negotiable dependent on experience. The contract would be on a 3-month rolling basis with the likelihood to extend to 6-9 months.
