Procurement/Commercial Officer

SOLOS are happy to present the opportunity for a Procurement/Commerical Officer to join their business, on a 6 month contract initially, based in central Bristol.The successful candidate will have previous experience of contract management and monitoring of supplier performance. Within the role you will provide operational support to the Contracts Manager in the form of supplier performance and contract management. Duties will also include, amongst others:The person should have the following attributes:a. Procurement purchasing experience – 2-5 years (junior to mid-level buyer experience)
b. Public sector tendering experience 1-2 years
c. Experience of using public sector frameworks
d. Ideally experienced in carrying out OJEU tenders but not essential
e. Delivery focussed and able to work to tight deadlines
f. Willing to go the extra mile, such as help stakeholders write specifications
g. proactively seeks information and buy-in from stakeholders
h. Carry out Procurement market research and able to apply purchasing knowledge to build value-add tenders
i. Ideally worked in IT procurement or professional services category
j. Learns and integrates quickly
k. Team player
l. Can challenge and ask questions to ensure compliance and pragmatism on a complex, fast moving programmeThe role will be embedded within the Operations Centre and would be supporting the relatively small portfolio of ICT contract (iro 20), working very closely with our Interim Commercial Manager within the Ops Centre
