Quality Engineer - Aerospace - Cambridge

Key Tasks:* Facilitate and steer problem solving activities using established techniques such as 8D, 5Why, DMAIC etc. and ensure long term structural solutions* Identify and resolve day-to-day quality and delivery issues, including part containment, risk assessment and control of non-conforming material.* Actively support the MRB process* Act as customer point of contact and represent the company at all levels for all quality related activities and enquiries (customer complaint treatment, implementation of new specifications, part validation activities (such as FAIR's) etc.)* Perform all reasonable requests made by management.* Give visibility to quality performances of the business through relevant KPI's* Actively participate in continuously improving the quality system by incorporating lessons learned, 'Best Practice' techniques etc* Actively participate in NPI projects as Quality representative, developing and facilitating the correct use of risk management tools (such as FMEA), control plans, inspection plans, MSA, part validation and gate keeping activities* Instruct, train & support staff with Quality subjects and matters* Review, evaluate the impact and implement any changes to quality specifications/requirements* Support inspection teams in understanding customer requirements, control plans and inspection plans (including statistical process control)* Audit both Internal & external suppliers and ensure correct application of procedures in accordance with relevant standards & specifications* Support customer / 3rd Party Audits.* Collect and analyse data to initiate, steer and support improvement projects* Give visibility to quality performances of the business through relevant KPI'sKey Experience:* Degree/HND/HNC qualified or relevant demonstrable experience* 4/5 years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment; experience in Aerospace is a plus* Proven experience in problem solving and leading/supporting improvement activities* Use of Lean methodologies and Six Sigma tools desirable* Proven experience in auditing (process, product, system) and assessing to customer requirements and industry specifications (AS9100, ISO9001)* Experience in PFMEA, MSA, Capability studies, Production readiness reviews PPAP, statistical process control* Experience in working with heat resistant materials (e.g. fibrefrax, titanium sheets)* 5 Why, Root Cause analysis* Computer literate in MS OfficeVivid Resourcing are committed to equality of opportunity for all applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships or any other characteristic protected by law
