Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

Cheshire West & Chester Council are currently working alongside Spencer Clarke Group to recruit Independent Domestic Violence AdvocateThe role is available on a Full- Time basis, on an initial 6+month contract with a view to extension, with excellent pay rates on offer and hoping for someone to start ASAPPRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES1
Carry out risk and needs assessments with those experiencing domestic abuse within agreed procedures to determine specific individual client needs, identify levels of risk and urgency of response in order to construct an individual Care Plan

Implement, co-ordinate and maintain individual Care Plans and act as Care Manager to ensure that services are arranged to meet the identified needs of high risk victims of domestic abuse3
Monitor, evaluate and review individual Care Plans, identify and respond to significant changes by modifying the Care Plan to ensure that the identified needs continue to be met in the most cost effective way4
Negotiate and liaise with other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies and relatives about arrangements in order to maintain the best possible safety for clients and by linking into the MARAC and Criminal Justice System5
To proactively support victims from crisis point through to the end of the criminal justice process, in close liaison with a wide variety of agencies and professionals, including the police, probation, health, social care and the courts

Maintain confidential client records/systems, both written and electronic, to ensure the provision of accurate up to date client related information to the groupEssentials;
• Managing a caseload with significant safeguarding issues
• Comprehensive, specialist knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on victims and children, and local and national best practice
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicleThis role is a Flexible Worker and this means that the role will utilise Flexible and Mobile working depending on working patterns and business requirements.
