GSL SEN are actively seeking several university graduates who are interested in working in one of our rated ‘outstanding’ Specialist schools in South London. The successful graduates will be working in a diverse and inclusive environment supporting a range of needs as SEN Teaching Assistants. Within this school learning is provided in a classroom setting with state-of-the-art facilities to support each learner’s individual requirements.

The opportunities within the school are varied; working long term and full time but also some positions are available for more flexible ad-hoc and day to day-based postings.

These SEN Teaching Assistant roles will suit recent Graduates who are keen to pursue a career in education and specifically within SEN support. SEN students require creative, flexible, patient, caring, and compassionate support. Empathy and passion for the support of those most vulnerable is a must.
The children?
The school caters for children with a range of needs; these include those with autism (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties, physical needs, and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Some students with be completely non-cognitive and others non-verbal. A rudimentary understand of either PECS or Makaton is desirable.
The School?
The school has state of the art facilities tailored to the specific support of the children in attendance there; these include two sensory gardens, sensory pool, and multiple soft play gymnasiums. students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists and speech and language therapists. The school is rated ‘outstanding’ and has a very positive reputation for the education and support delivered across the site. The building is purpose built completed in just 2019 with onsite parking and full restaurant on site with lunches provided to staff.
