KS2 Science lead

Are you an experienced primary teacher with a passion for Science? Are you looking for a subject specific role in South East London? This is a rare opportunity to join a successful academy as a KS2 Science lead.This large established primary academy school in Peckham South East London, are currently looking for a qualified teacher to join them as KS2 Science lead. The position is full time starting in September and is paying an annual salary of up to £40,000.The school has the strong belief that children thrive when they are consistently happy and safe at school. Whatever a child’s background or starting point, they want to make sure that they finish Year 6 with the academic skills, social skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Every lesson at this school is creative and there is plenty of time for children to think, to play, to discover and wonder. The school has brilliant facilities and resources to enable students to do this. The academy consists of primary and secondary schools. Secondary Academy teachers, in subjects like mathematics, art and PE, visit regularly to give primary pupils a head start with the secondary curriculum.The school is in the heart of Peckham and is a 10-minute stroll from the nearest train station. Trains are less than half an hour from central London and run across South East London. There are also convenient bus routes and staff parking is available.The Headteacher is keen to recruit a full time, long term KS2 Science lead.The KS2 Science lead must have:
• Experience of subject leadership preferably science
• High expectations and a commitment to academy and Federation vision
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• The ability to work with and grow team members
• An excellent teacher with the ability to model with evidence of good and better progress of children taught
• A strong understanding of using data to accelerate progress
