Materials Handler

You’re an experienced Material Handler who wants to work for a large, international manufacturer. Producing electro-mechanical products which are sold around the world, you’ll be developing controls that organise material supply into production areas, whilst maintaining customer quality, on-time delivery and inventory control.As a Material Handler, you’ll be managing orders from suppliers and ensuring new materials are available for production on-time based in their Weymouth factory. You’re organised and able to plan ahead providing the Materials Controller with a safe pair of hands to rely on. Working in a welcoming, team player environment, this is a long-term contract with potential opportunities in the future.Your other responsibilities include:* Managing the ‘Goods In’ area and ‘Book In’ using the ERP system for all materials
* Dispatch of goods to appropriate locations, confirming that the quantity was correct
* Assist with cost saving, efficiency and process improvement projects linked to the Materials Function
* Assist the material planner to help maintain stock levels to meet operational requirements and escalate any shortages to the Production Team Leaders, when materials will not meet the agreed delivery time
* Undertake cycle counting as and when, in conjunction with the Cycle Count process
* Ensure products produced in your area are ‘back-flushed’ on a daily and timely basis
