Finance Assistant

A great opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant based on Birmingham Business Park to process rent payments on behalf of tenants. The role is a 3 month fixed term contract to start in January. You will work a 35 hour week, Monday to Friday and you will receive 32 days holiday pro rata including Bank Holidays and no car parking fees!With a team of over 400 staff, you will be working for an award winning company who manages more than 20,000 affordable homes and social housing across England. With excellent standards in place, you will be working for an organisation that is committed to providing a strong customer focus and delivering high performance.As the Finance Assistant, you will be:* Maintaining the rent ledger for all tenants and leaseholders, ensuring all payments received are processed onto the rent ledger each day
* Checking authorised routine rent adjustments and processing onto the clients' accounts and calculating none routine rent adjustments, gaining authorisation
* Assisting with Finance Officer with the period end turnover of the rent system, including weekly and monthly debits and resolving any issues
* Setting up codes for new properties and maintaining rent records of payment types
* Running rent statements on a monthly basis
* Issuing direct debit and standing order requests to residents, updating bank account details and producing direct debit instruction lettersTo be successful as the Finance Assistant, you will have:* Previously worked within a financial department or accounts role
* Experienced in rent accounting
* An AAT Level 1 or equivalent
* IT literate in Microsoft Excel
* You may have experience of the following: Rents Clerk, Rents Officer, Rent Accounts Clerk, Accounts Assistant, Sales Ledger Clerk, Cash Allocations, Property, Housing, Lettings, Third Sector.The Finance Assistant will receive a salary of £20,093 per annum pro rata plus the following benefits -* 32 days holiday pro rata including Bank Holidays
