NEC Construction Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen working for a large healthcare provider based in London. My client is looking to recruit an NEC Construction Supervisor on an interim basis for 3-6 months ongoing.
The NEC Construction supervisor will provide project support across the construction services as designated. They will plan/programme & manage their own workload across several projects as delegated. In general all works are related to the capital development programme project schemes & backlog, they shall liaise with service providers, and improve support services processes and policies. During technical commissioning ensure designed objectives are met and required standards are adhered to, enabling a smooth handover in the responsibility of the operation and maintenance of the building from contractor to Trust.• The scale and complexity of individual projects will vary, with individual project budgets of up to £30million.
• The NEC Supervisor; tests and inspects the works for compliance with the works information, manages the defects process, checks equipment, plant and materials, to protect client interests.
• CS will invite and control site inspections at the appropriate stages –Need better control of personnel operating outside NECDuties:• Will be engaged at outline design stage to review proposals and provide feedback.
• Quality assurance monitoring, compliance with specification, NHS standards (Health Building Notes HBN’s & Health Technical Memoranda HTM’s) and GSTT Trust specific standards.
• Review Health & Safety compliance to include the wearing of PPE on site by all, site conditions (tidy site uncluttered), access & egress control on site and the displaying of relevant notices (include F10).
• Where non-compliance or breaches occur with H&S or fire related defects notice shall be given with deadline and potential temporary closure of the site should be instructed with project manager.
• Regular attendance on construction site daily if required to ensure that the contractor is forward planning a schedule for commissioning of all services with the engineering team who are the only team that can sign off systems as satisfactory/compliant.
• To assist with testing and inspection of the works, manages the defects process, checks equipment, plant and materials, to protect client interests
• Production of weekly construction reports using standard documentation electronically. Reports to be made available for the end of each week by no later than Friday including any relevant photographic records.
• Where design and build contracts are used the construction supervisor maybe required to undertake other duties.The successful candidate will have a good sound base and understanding of the NEC3 form of contract able to operate with minor supervision/assistance. Works on an adjoining site NEC3 construction supervisor. It is very desirable for the successful candidate to have healthcare experience.It is sometimes necessary to close vacancies before the closing date.
