Content Editor

A personable and collaborative content editor who is able to communicate confidently and diplomatically with a diverse range of stakeholders is sought by a highly reputed organisation in central London.This is an immediately available contract role that will take responsibility for a few key projects - involving managing the design, development, production and regular review of course materials, in both print and digital formats. Familiarity with educational materials is required.You will:Apply creative flair and sound pedagogical principles in planning and designing courses and content for both classroom and online deliveryDevelop and use project plans and apply a project management approach to the development and delivery of course materials, adhering to deadlines and budgets.Writing clear, accurate briefs for authors and external suppliers and ensuring appropriate agreements and contracts are in place.Commissioning, reviewing and quality assuring content from subject matter experts and external suppliers.Working with a range of external suppliers to provide text design, graphics, photos, audio/visual assets, copyright clearance, ebook conversion and other editorial services.Working with the digital team members to provide guidance and input into digital learning resources.Developing bespoke course outlines and learning outcomes to support in-company client proposals.Communicating with clients and key account managers as needed to develop a clearer understanding of client needs.Ensuring application of in-house style, branding and tone of voice guidance.Communicating regularly with course leaders and reviewing delegate and client feedback to support the continued development and improvement of programmes.Assisting with queries from colleagues, consultants and course delegates in relation to the content and design of learning programmes.You will have:A degree-level qualification coupled with an understanding of training and teaching approaches is desirable, preferably evidenced by a recognised learning and development or adult teaching qualification or practical teaching/training experience.A minimum of two years’ experience managing the development and production of learning materials for professional or HE courses, ideally in both print and digital formats.Some knowledge of course design. A track record of managing and delivering complex projects on time and budget is desirable.An editorial background in editing and meeting high standards of quality assurance. Familiarity with applying house style and branding.Experience working with a range of stakeholders, including content providers, teachers/trainers, external suppliers and senior members of staff.The ability to work with specialist, academic and practice-based content, and quick at picking up new subjects.Strong project management skills.Confidence in making editorial decisions.Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Familiarity with Adobe InDesign.Meticulous approach and a keen eye for detail - Strong editorial and copywriting skills with excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation. Highly organised with an ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously
