SEND Safeguarding, Attendance and Welfare Officer (September Start)Vision for Education are pleased to be recruiting for an SEND Safeguarding, Attendance and Welfare Officer for an SEND school in Knowsley.The school is an award-winning, Ofsted-rated “Good in all areas", 11-16, SEMH School. The pupils come from all over Knowsley, plus surrounding boroughs.The ideal candidate should have a passion for working with young people who can exhibit some challenging behaviour, with a flexible approach to ensure that the school delivers a pupil-centred education to allow each individual to obtain their full potential.In return, the school can offer you a very supportive and dedicated team, excellent working conditions, entry to an occupational pension scheme and commitment to professional development.The successful candidate will be responsible for duties in relation to the role of Designated Safeguarding Deputy. They will be expected to develop, co-ordinate and implement strategies to improve pupil attendance, making sure that the school meets all of it's attendance and punctuality targets and requirements. They will also need to provide effective welfare support and guidance to learners, monitoring pupils at risk of leaving within curriculum areas and ensuring that effective intervention strategies are in place to keep students on programme.To be employed for 12 months in the first instance with scope for extension or being made permanent in the future.The school, and Vision for Education, are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
