Purpose
To collaborate with key stakeholders proactively identifying areas where HR can add value and support Strategic Objectives
Advising, coaching and supporting managers on a full range of employee relations and performance management issues
Reviewing and updating existing HR policies, procedures and processes and responsibility for developing and launching new HR policies and procedures
HR Adviser
To contribute to the delivery of an effective HR service in accordance with RoS standards
With an emphasis on coaching, provide advice, guidance and support to managers, colleagues and Trade Union representatives on the application of RoS policy and procedures and employment law
To apply policies, practices and procedures to ensure adherence to legislative requirements * Coach, advise and assist managers in monitoring and improving attendance levels
To develop and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, including staff, managers and Trade Union representatives
Coach and support other members of the HR team
To support HR workstreams and projects as required
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Policy Development
To review and update existing HR policies, procedures and processes in line with employment legislation and ACAS/CIPD best practice
To develop new policies and procedures to ensure RoS meets and exceeds its legislative employment requirements
To launch new policies and procedures effectively - developing and participating in any change management activities as required
Support with implementation of the Equality and Diversity agenda
Employee Relations
To develop and maintain professional working relationships with Trade Union Officers
Ensure that all activity relating to ER is consistent and in line with legislation
Develop relevant ER documentation, ensuring all contractual/legal documents and templates are kept up to date and in line with current legislation
Lead on ER issues as required, ensuring that full procedures are followed end to end
Support the ER Manager with Trade Union Partnership meetings
Essential Criteria
To be qualified or studying towards chartered CIPD level
Knowledge of current employment legislation
Experience of advising managers on employment policies and procedures
Experience of leading on ER issues
Experience of coaching and working with managers on ER issues
Experience of policy development
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Good organisational skills and ability to work in a changing environment

Desirable Criteria
The ability to analyse, evaluate and collate information from disparate sources
The ability to work as part of a small team, and to act on your own initiative
Experience of working with Trade Unions
