The Role: The successful candidate must be able to appreciate a broad range of complex practical, technical and commercial issues and to work proactively and constructively with a broad range of stakeholders; leading project teams that are either locally based or distributed across multiple sites. This is initially a 3 month contract, however there is the potential for work to be extended. Other aspects of the role will include supporting the growth of our client’s capabilities through building a reputation for excellence, mentoring others, supporting business development and bidding activities. The role has the following requirements: • Direct and demonstrable experience of managing consultancy, engineering design or procurement projects to time, cost and quality. Delivering work under different types of engineering and construction contracts, (including NEC3, FEED and the negotiation of target, fixed price and time & materials engagements) is particularly desirable. • Degree qualified in a related Engineering or Project Management discipline. • Experience of leading and directing local and geographically disparate teams and resources. Able to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and create a strong delivery culture. • A strong element of client relationship management and people leadership. Excellent communication skills. • Willingness to travel within the UK and abroad occasionally, as necessary. • Willing to work flexibly and occasionally out of hours to accommodate project & client requirements. • Nuclear Industry experience is desirable but not essential. Applications from candidates from other engineering and manufacturing industries such as oil and gas, defence, aerospace and automotive or similar would be welcomed. • The ability to speak French, Japanese or Chinese would be an added bonus but not essential.
