This organisation are looking for a Quantity Surveyor on a temporary basis for 3 months initially. Main Duties: * Responsible for providing quantity surveying and estimating services for internal and external schemes to ensure the best use of available resources. * Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client. * Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work. * Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies. * Performing risk, value management and cost control. * Advising on technical aspects of procurement strategy. * Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks. * Preparing and analysing costings for tenders. * Assist the Project Manager in the creation and maintenance of a schedule of rates. These are the core documents utilised for the control and expenditure of the WHQS implementation program. * Providing advice on contractual claims. * Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports. * Valuing completed work and arranging payments. * Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use. DS Smith is currently seeking a Credit & Collections Team Member to join the Finance Department. Reporting into the Credit & Collections Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to protect DS Smith’s investment in its debtors as well as maintaining the lowest level of receivables by maximising cash collections and minimising bad debt. As well as protecting DS Smith’s investments, you will be responsible for carrying out the day to day collections activities as defined in the credit policy. You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts and will build excellent working relationships with these customers, liaising with them directly regarding payments and adherence to agreed credit terms, thus ensuring that cash targets and achieved and where possible, exceeded. You will deliver excellent customer service at all times, ensuring that customer queries are processed in a timely manner and are effectively resolved. Further to this, you will keep within acceptable levels of bad debts and will identify high risk and marginal risk accounts, taking the necessary action to safeguard sales to those customers. You will monitor overdue debt against agreed payment terms and will act in accordance with the credit policy. You will comply with the Group’s credit insurance policy at all times and will provide assistance in regards to bad debt provisioning. You will also build excellent working relationships within the Credit & Collections Team and wider business, adopting a flexible approach to ensure targets are met effectively. You will support other Team Members, providing cover during periods of absence when required. There are 4 Assistant Project Manager roles and the duties associated are interchangeable. There are different delivery arrangements for the WHQS Programme and each Assistant Project Manager will be assigned to different parts of the delivery arrangements. * Management of allocated contracts (including energy efficiency). * Technical advice and support to relevant Project Manager. * Management of contract information within Keystone. * Management of energy data for housing stock. KEY RESULT AREAS * Develop and manage contracts to achieve and maintain the WHQS. * Manage staff where relevant to the area of responsibility e.g. surveyor, clerk of works, technical officers. * Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice. * Plan and organise work to meet programme requirements set by Project Manager. * Input information to Keystone in a timely manner to monitor contracts and track expenditure. PERSON SPECIFICATION * Relevant Level 5 technical qualification equivalent to on the Credit and Qualifications Framework. * Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD). * Professional qualification e.g. C.I.O.B., R.I.C.S., Health and Safety. * Sound knowledge of contract management within the Housing sector or similar environment. * Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, and landlord responsibilities applicable to the social housing sector. * Understanding of the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP). * Understanding of statutory maintenance requirements. * Knowledge of energy policies and energy grants. * Proven experience of contract and project management in the Housing sector. * Experience of CDM Regulations 2015. * Familiarity with the WHQS.
