The Senior Systems Safety Engineer will be responsible for conducting the safety assessment of avionics systems for our client. It is expected that the Senior Systems Safety Engineer will provide training to the Systems Engineers on safety design process and methods. In addition, the Senior Systems Safety Engineer will support the system architecture and design work of Avionics Systems for our client. This position serves as the systems safety domain expert for our client, requires extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of safety activities starting at the avionics system level with experience at the aircraft level being desirable. This person must be capable of allocating safety requirements, conducting applicable analysis and assessments, and performing requirements validation and verification at the system and subsystem levels as it relates to safety function. Essential Functions/Responsibilities •Conduct safety analysis and assessments at the system and subsystem levels. •Generate safety requirements and allocate to the system and subsystem levels. •Provide training to the systems engineers on safety design process and methods. •Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned safety projects adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements, manage corresponding project schedule and costs. •Coordinate with suppliers to define their safety programs and oversee their efforts. •Document safety related technical data of assigned projects, conforming engineering policies and procedures. •Provide timely communications on significant safety issues or developments. Integrate processes across functional areas to improve coordination and maximise efficiency. Qualifications/Requirements (Essential) •Minimum degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering/Sciences, Mathematics, or other related Engineering and Science fields from an accredited institution. •Many years of proven experience in safety design and analysis of complex electronic products and/or avionics systems. •Established expertise in safety analysis and assessment, safety requirements development and resource allocation, proven hands-on experience in SSPP, FHA, PSSA, SSA, etc. •Proficiency in ARP4761, ARP4754A, and DO-297 objectives and compliance. •Proficiency with Relex or other commonly used industry safety software tools. •Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization •Strong oral and written communication skills in English Desired Characteristics •Safety engineering experience through full development life cycles of aviation products. •Demonstrated experience in end-to-end safety assessment at IMA system level or aircraft level. •Familiarity with the IMA, Displays Systems, Flight Management System, Onboard Maintenance System, Flight Recording System, Airport Service Map System is a plus. •Previous experience in MMEL, CCMR, CMA are extra assets. •Knowledge in network security and DO-326, security risk assessment experience is a plus. •Familiarity with system/software/hardware design, verification and validation processes. •Extensive background in Aerospace electronics/avionics engineering and development and qualification including DO-178B, DO-254, and DO-160G standards •Strong technical aptitude, including engineering tools and systems. •Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, ability of guiding and influencing others. •Results driven, ability of working under pressure

Essential Responsibilities •Participate in teams responsible for the execution of design, analysis, or evaluation of system using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. •Recommend approaches to meet the technical and program requirements for the system. •Assist in the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements, scheduling, and contract commitments for the system •Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems that related to the system. •Develop system understanding and skills in line with defined aircraft requirements utilising the capability building framework and resources provided. •Assure proper documentation of technical data, like system requirements and specification, generated for the assigned tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures •Generate safety requirements and allocate to the system, subsystem and unit levels. •Review safety analysis and assessments at the system, subsystem and unit levels. •Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments •Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews for system •Be responsible for supporting the development of IMA system for Commercial aircraft, and for the definition of IMA system level requirements, hosted application interface definitions, architecture design, RDIU input/output, ARINC 664 network, and providing guidance to system and sub-system suppliers. •Support the certification process for IMA system throughout the entire lifecycle of a development program. •Decompose the difficult/complex work into easy/clear steps, then guide and coach the junior engineers to complete it. Qualifications/Requirements •Masters degree from an accredited university or college (or a Bachelor degree with at least 20 years of engineering or other technical experience) •15 years’ experience developing aircraft or avionics products •10 years’ IMA experience with ANRINC 664 Data Network function and Data Conversion function design, specifically on system level requirements authoring, host application development and interface definition •Thorough understanding of ARINC 653 & ARINC 664 standards, with good understanding of the clients open IMA systems
