Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Rate: From £35.00 to £37.00 per Hour Ltd Co.
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
*As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you will be working for a Project Manager (PM), supporting them in proactively progressing assigned projects, escalating and driving issues to resolution, reporting on status and motivating the project team.
*You may be required to liaise with the customer upon occasion.
*Supporting order winning process
*Establishing and maintaining schedule and resource requirements to meet project objectives
*Attending and input to progress review meetings to ascertain requirements
*Identifying schedule and resource risks
*Maintaining project costs within the cost control system
*Ensuring that the PM is aware of all unresolved problems and support the PM in all project related activities
*Supporting the project control process
*Produce reports as laid out in Business Procedures and working practices
*Raising Sub-Contractor Enquiries, Purchase Requests, Monitoring delivery schedules and receipt of goods
*Analysing costs and schedule variances and proactively provide solutions
*Control of contract variations and change control registers and generation of claims documents on behalf of the PM
*Generation of invoices and liaison with client on clearing payments
*Produce data/report for and attend commercial / progress meetings as directed by the PM
*Deputise for the PM whenever nominated to do so
*Liaise with client representatives on all contract issues as directed by the PM
*Support to Stores and Goods Inwards/Outwards Teams, including inventory management
Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
*Experience liaising with clients
*Fully aware of the project lifecycle
*General understanding of project management aspects, principles and processes
*Sound IT skills, particularly project reporting and writing skills
*Good spoken and written English is essential
*Comfortable working as part of a team
*MS Office Conversant
*Focuses on the customer & Works co-operatively with customers and stakeholders (internal and external) in order to meet and exceed their expectations
*Collaborates and Shares Knowledge & Seeks to create collective success through teamwork, knowledge sharing and mutual support
*Delivers Results / Focuses on Solution / Organisational Skills & Plans what needs to be delivered and then focuses on making it happen

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
*3 or more years’ experience within specialist engineering companies for the Nuclear, petrochemical, transport, aerospace or similar industries
*Associate or higher Membership of the APM
*APM Foundation Certificate or APMP Qualification
*Graduate level Degree in an engineering or equivalent degree
