A large multinational global player requires a highly skilled Python Developer to join their client team in Dublin. We are hiring an applications programmer to assist a global team of working directly with the Fixed Income Trader in Emerging Markets. This is a front office IT role with direct interaction with the quant business strategists, front line traders, and trade support as well as the larger IT community that supports the trading desks. The primary language we employ is Python, and the successful candidate will be working on Python applications within Strategic Risk management system, a platform for rapid financial application development. It includes globally replicated Object Oriented databases, fast and reliable middleware, and stream processing libraries that help compose unique views for a WPF based UI. We do not have business analysts and as such the candidate will need to be able to gather complex requirements directly from the users and support, then implement them independently, and automatically regression test. This is a role that can bring recognition as your primary goal is to change the application to fit any unforeseen critical business needs, and the business really appreciates every delivery in this area. Key Responsibilities include: * Work with the trading desk, support and quants to analyse requirements, maximize personal interactions in a global world. * Rapidly turn requirements into high quality applications which are robust enough for a trading desk, and minimize risk. * Take responsibility for code personally by understanding the application, while staying focused on development of new code * Be prepared to work with minimal supervision and without detailed specifications * Contribute to the larger IT community. We operate an “open source” policy and everybody can see everybody else’s code. * Be interested in finance and motivated to continually learn on the job. Qualification Requirement Degree in Software engineering. Additional qualification in Finance such as FRM and CFA is desirable. My Client are a globally leading organization and are looking an English-speaking Applications Developer to join their ongoing project in Brussels. You will be integrated into the team where you will work closely with the IT team on site.

Tasks:

  • Lead the software development of product features including web portals, integration, workflow automation and business intelligence
  • Acting as Scrum Master, embed the principles and practices of Agile Scrum within the team and across the organisation in order to deliver quality software in a predictable, dependable way
  • Provide technical leadership to guide, mentor and develop the software development team
  • Work in conjunction with the Solution Architect to design and develop a robust technical architecture platform
  • Play an active part in ensuring the software development process follows the established technical governance for aspects such as architecture, security, data and quality

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or higher in computer science or IT-related discipline
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrable technical experience in developing Microsoft solutions to deliver functionality such as portal capabilities, workforce management, process automation, document management and others
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in application and integration development using Microsoft Azure IAAS and PAAS functions to build robust, scalable solutions in the public cloud
  • Minimum 3 years of experience performing a Scrum Master role with proven ability to mentor and evangelise Agile principles and practices within the team and across the organisation
  • Experience in writing technical documentation and of presenting technical concepts to stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Ability to integrate in an international environment and to cooperate well in a team
  • Excellent command of English language

You must have the following experience:

Has experience of working for a colocation data centre or managed services provider
Able to rack, stack and cable IT equipment to a high standard considering best practices.
Able to lift 50lbs and is aware of manual handling guidelines.
A keen problem solver who can use their experience and analytical skills to troubleshoot common customer intelligent hands (aka remote hands & eyes) requests (hardware faults, connectivity loss in copper and fibre cabling, power issues).
Experience of using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
Able to work shifts and be on call if required (nights and weekends)
