JOB TITLE: Procurement Engineer LOCATION: Torness Power Station (Dunbar) DURATION: 12 Months initial contract SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: DOE YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: The successful candidate will be educated to HNC level, with a knowledge of Passport or similar Materials Management application and the disciplines involved in quality assurance procurement activities. Vacancy Overview Procurement Engineering is pivotal to EDF Energy becoming a nuclear operator of choice. Working within the supply chain function, the role is to ensure not only that our inventory is optimised but to deliver an unparalleled level of service to the Station and fleet on a day to day basis. Nature and Scope * Understands Supply Chain Materials Group processes for repair and procurement of spares and materials * Demonstrates a good awareness of internal customers, key supplier partnerships and agreements for the procurement and repair of plant spares. * Have a thorough understanding of the application of the QA grading of spares * Review and develop QA plans in relation to spares. * Work to BE procedures in relation to spares catalogue management including completion of evaluations and Passport panels. * Verify Bills of Materials for plant for accuracy and content. * Ensure activities are undertaken in accordance with operational and maintenance priorities. * Review engineering drawings, for spares specifications. * Support work with Planning Dept, Work Execution Group and Outage Management groups to improve demanded spares availability and to resolve spares availability issues. * Ability to validate BOMs. * Facilitate raising of new catalogue items Accountabilities * Manage obsolescence of our stock ensuring security of supply * Help to achieve inventory savings * Rationalise our supply base ensuring that only the very best suppliers work with EDF Energy. * Manage the Materials Catalogue on Passport to ensure its integrity is maximised.
