JOB TITLE: Occupational Health Nurse LOCATION: Torness Power Station, Dunbar SALARY/RATE AND BENEFITS: £12.80 to £14.52 Per Hour + Shift Allowance YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING: Previous experience working in a clinical setting COMPANY INFORMATION: EDF Nuclear Generation ROLE INFORMATION: We are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse / Technician to join the existing occupational health team. As an Occupational Health Nurse / Technician you will be an integral part of the team, providing a professional OH clinical service to all site employees. This will be a full time role, 37.5hrs per week, consisting of 12 hour day / night shifts over a 5 week roster on a long term temporary contract. This role would suit a nurse who is looking at changing career into Occupational Health or experienced individual from a suitable healthcare background which could include: • Registered Nurse • Health Care Assistant • Ambulance • EMT • Military Medic • Offshore Medic Knowledge and experience of working in Occupational Health Accountabilities The main duties of the role include: • Being an active member of the Occupational Health team and promote a positive working environment • Undertaking health screening procedures in accordance with company protocols. These screening procedures may include general baseline measurements such as height, weight, blood pressure, and urinalysis • Carrying out Drug and Alcohol testing • Carrying out fitness for work medicals • Health surveillance screening including audiometry and lung function testing • Participate as a member of Emergency Response Team • Support employees presenting with minor injury or health related issues. • Health promotion activities • Ensuring all medical information is accurately recorded • Ensuring all equipment is serviceable, clean and fit for purpose • Providing support to the whole Occupational Health team in helping the department to run smoothly and effectively • Undertaking additional tasks as requested Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience • Relevant professional qualifitcations for previous healthcare job role. eg Registered Nurse Essential Skills • Previous experience working in a clinical setting • Be able to deliver treatment for minor injury / ill health as per company protocol • First Aid / CPR trained • Demonstrate a self-motivated and proactive approach to work • Be able to work effectively independently and also within a team framework • Possess solid IT skills • Be able to prioritise own workload and manage own time effectively • Capable of working flexibly and to strict deadlines • Understand the requirement for patient confidentiality, ensuring all patients are treated with respect, dignity and privacy • Be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral • Car driver Desirable Skills: • BLS / ALS / Use of medical gases / anaphylaxis / vaccination / ECG / Venepuncture trained • Health Surveillance training – audio / spirometry • Drug and Alcohol chain of command training Since 1978, Rullion has been securing exceptional candidates for a range of clients; from large well-known brands, to SMEs and start ups.
