Akton Recruitment currently has an exciting opportunity for a Housing Officer with Tempoary Accomadation experience to join the team with the local authority in Central Bedfordshire.
We are looking to recruit a Housing Register Assistant to work within the Council’s front line Housing Solutions Team.
As a Housing Register Assistant you will assist customers and staff by providing housing advice and work closely with Housing Register Officers to help them to manage their caseload. You will be responsible for processing documents to enable Officers to assess Housing Register applications according to the Council’s Housing Allocations Scheme and you will assist customers, helping them to find suitable accommodation and empowering the residents of Central Bedfordshire to live independently.
The successful candidate is required to have experience of direct customer contact, working in an advisory capacity, experience of dealing with members of the public, handling difficult issues and volatile situations as well as experience of handling sensitive and confidential information. The candidate must be an organised, innovative and dedicated to improving service delivery with a customer focus by providing real solutions for people in housing need.
It is essential that the post holder has the ability to listen, have an understanding of the customer perspective and is able to work well under pressure, they will be required to operate a large caseload and must be able to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
