The successful Contract Administrator will be a fast-paced individual who builds rapport well, with both engineers and clients and works well under pressure. You will be a logical thinker who can make sound judgement calls and has an excellent eye for detail. Previous experience within any kind of scheduling / planning role would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided. The Property and Infrastructure team deliver a portfolio of projects, predominantly in the education sector ranging in value from £100k to over £20 million. The commercial team’s role is to support in the delivery of these projects by ensuring a consistent, high quality commercial service with ambitions of achieving better value on all projects. The ideal candidate will be MRICS qualified be capable of mentoring an assistant surveyor. You will ideally have experience on education or community projects although this is not essential. Reporting to the Head of Quantity Surveying, you will be expected to liaise with other internal departments and external consultants and therefore must be confident with communication skills both oral and written. Roles and Responsibilities Include all Quantity Surveying duties from RIBA stage 1 to 7 with a strong emphasis on the following: * Establishing the projects requirements and undertake feasibility studies. * Setting project budgets through cost analysis of previous projects * Reviewing cost plans at various stage gates * Investigate OJEU compliant Frameworks and their use * Participate in discussions regarding project procurement strategies * Prepare tender documents * Ensure that health and safety regulations are factored into all documents * Identify commercial risks and help develop suitable responses * Evaluate tenders and prepare tender reports and other paperwork that is required to appoint a supplier on a project * Prepare contracts * Manage contract execution process * Collate templates for issue to external cost consultants * Monitor supplier KPI’s and reporting * Liaise with external consultants and project managers regarding contract preparation and contract administration issues This role is for an inital 6 month fixed term contract with the strong possibility of turning into a full time permenant position
