Laboratory Service Chemist £26000 - £29000/annum Do you have analytical chemical lab experience? Do you want to work alongside a dedicated and successful team? Laboratory Analyst Role Summary This is a unique opportunity for an analyst to work within the nutritional sector in a laboratory based role .Laboratory Analyst main focus of the role will be to provide basic analytical services to our customers in the form of Quality Control testing and non-routine analysis and to aid the Laboratory Manager in the organisation and filing of laboratory records and documents. Laboratory Analyst The daily QC analysis of raw materials and finished products for our customers will focus on either USP or EP methodologies. However, where these are not available an AOAC method or new method development will be used. The successful candidate will be joining a small team, and as such the room for progression will be driven through their own initiative. They will also be encouraged to help drive the laboratory forward by providing assistance in investigating quality issues, creating systems to help the laboratory run more smoothly and assist in the equipment validation and calibration. This is a different role that would involve a combination of lab work with on-site tasks to include but not exclusive to sampling various water and process streams, equipment calibrations etc. Main Duties Analysis: Routine analysis of the following: • dry raw materials i.e. • wet raw and bulk materials • finished products to verify their label claim i • Record keeping and administration: • completion of laboratory notebook and maintenance of orderly filing system • maintenance of Calibration records for the laboratory equipment • assisting in the maintenance of current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) which will also involve formulating new SOPs when required and amending existing ones • creating filing systems to improve laboratory efficiency About You • degree or associated qualification within a chemistry-based subject OR a HNC in a chemistry-based subject with two years analytical work experience • good interpersonal skills • excellent time management skills • good IT skills • good organisation skills • good practical experience of working with a variety of methodologies for the analysis • ability to follow current guidelines and SOPs – working to a high standard at all times Knowledge and understanding of: • EU regulation of food supplements and labelling Interested?
