A well respected defence organisation is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager/ Project Controller to join their dedicated team of PMO Professionals. The role is based in Glasgow and is for an initial 12 month duration. There is a rate of £38Ltd Per Hour on offer for successful candidates. Please find the descriptions below: We are looking for a mix of Assistant Project Manager and Project Controller skills with particular emphasis on the following: * Proven track record of managing a project (or a work package within a larger project) with responsibility to cost, schedule and scope within any industry (but must have worked within a PM delivery or PMO (Project Management Office) environment) * Prior experience in managing contracts with suppliers and co-ordinating supplier activities (not essential but desirable) * Experience in using common Project Management toolsets such as: * MS Project * Primavera * ARM (or equivalent risk management tool) * Experience in operating in an environment where Earned Value Management is applied to measure and control projects * Ability to analyse project performance data and then make decisions to drive the project forward * Behaviours we are looking for: * Driven, self-motivated and proactive * Ability to engage with multi-disciplinary teams and bring stakeholders together towards the goal of the project * Ability to challenge and influence Simply click on the apply button now. About the role: Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a Piping Engineer to the team. - Sound track record in the management and delivery of engineering projects. - Ability to organise and communicate with multi-disciplined teams. - Understanding of the management of Project Engineering issues and effective use of relevant tools and techniques for EPC delivery. - Ability to evaluate technical and contractual information. - Ability to utilise cost control and forecasting tools. - Knowledge of key project management procedures and documents including HSEQ management systems and cost control systems. - Ability to communicate at all levels including with senior customer contacts. - Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary delivery team. The role is based in the Glasgow and is for an initial 6 month duration. There is a rate of £50Ltd Per Hour on offer for successful candidates. Please find the descriptions below: Your main responsibilities as Engineering Manager will be: * Provide strategic leadership of the Systems Engineering, modelling and system safety team * Lead the continued transformation of Marine Engineering and the adoption of systems engineering practices. * Lead the roll-out of model based systems engineering (MBSE) across the wider Marine Systems domain; establish the policies, processes and capability requirements for MBSE. * Lead the development of the Marine Systems integrated functional model (structural, functional and control) using SysML. * Ensure that operability considerations and requirements for the Whole-Ship are embodied within the integrated Marine Systems design. * Lead the systems safety assessment of the integrated Marine design. * Lead the identification of Marine design integration issues. * Lead on resolution of Marine technical integration issues. * Ensuring effective definition and configuration control of the Marine System design. * Support development of the Marine Systems Safety Case; incorporate Key Hazard assessment work completed as part of the systems safety analysis. * Act as point of contact for the Marine System Approval Authority with respect to modelling and systems safety. * Act as the delegated Control Account Manager for own area of work; lead on the development of project plans, project delivery and reporting and project risk management. * Inspire the team and wider stakeholders in delivery of the project vision. * Support the ships Systems Integration Authority in their role as delegated engineering authority for the Ship design. * Own the capability development of engineers within Systems Engineering within sub-domain; lead the development of systems integration processes in support of the Engineering Function. * Support the capability development of engineers within the wider Marine Engineering discipline on ITEA and Verification & Validation through active rotation of ME SQEP into the team. * Support the Systems Integration Authority in design/assurance reviews. * Ensure compliance with the SHE Management System, mitigating risks and improving overall SHE performance’ * Provide suitable information/instruction/communication for the team to undertake all activities in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. * Demonstrate strong and active leadership for SHE, setting high standards across all areas. * Regularly review SHE performance as part of the management agenda, taking action to ensure all employees keep safe and work safe.
