Key Responsibilities: Developing design concepts to a production intent standard. * Working with technical project engineer to ensure design release timing adherence. * Arranging and presenting technical solutions at cross functional design reviews. * Creating and releasing drawings of complex components. Required Skills and Experience * Engine design experience at both a component and sub-system level. It would be advantageous to have experience in at least one of the following areas: o Fuel system integration o Valve mechanism design o In cylinder component design (piston & conrod) o Design of castings * Demonstrable knowledge of PTC Creo 4. * Demonstrable detail drawing knowledge including use of GD&T on a wide range of components. * Working knowledge of Caterpillar systems and processes would be an advantage although training will be provided as appropriate. * Ability to liaise with other functions within our clients facility - Purchase, inspection, operations. This is an initial 6 month contract with the expectation of an extension into 12 months

The successful candidate will not only lead the alternative curriculum package but also work within the wider Young Shrewsbury Team. Purpose of the role: To develop a high quality alternative curriculum package for young people in partnership with them their local communities and other partners/agencies in Shrewsbury. To facilitate personal, social and educational growth in young people (between 11 - 18yrs) to help reach their full potential in society, based in a variety of settings including Youth Centres, Schools, Colleges and detached. The post holder will directly run a number of youth sessions. To build positive relationships and conversations with young people and through activities, street contact and group work we help them to learn new skills, improve their confidence and make informed decisions. Our client is a manufacturer of off-highway products. Due to continued growth they are seeking an experienced PTC CREO 4 Transmissions Design Engineer to join the team on a contracting basis. Based in Shrewsbury the engineering team has engineering responsibility for Defense's engine and transmission programs for a worldwide customer base. Initially, this will be a 6 month contract, with the individual reporting to the engineering manager for design. Workload allocation and direction on a day to day basis will be provided by the lead design engineer for Shrewsbury's transmission product. You will primarily provide production support through the engineering change process. Key Responsibilities: The engineer would be responsible for providing design engineering support current transmission. The applicants would be responsible for: Modelling and drawing creation at a component and sub-assembly level. Be responsible for the complete engineering change process i.e. understanding the problem, proposing resolution, ultimately leading to drawing creation and release. Liaising closely with suppliers and internal customers to resolve engineering issues/queries. Support transmission lead engineer in engineering related issues - quality, purchasing, build. Potential to support transmission upgrade programme.Key Skills and Attributes: Demonstrable knowledge of PTC Creo 4. Demonstratable detail drawing knowledge including use of GD&T on a wide range of components including complex castings.
