Salary £32,910 - £34,728
Monday – Thursday – 8:30 – 16:30 and Friday 8:30 – 16:00
Prince Personnel are working with a local specialist services provider where they are looking to bring in a new Assistant Business Manager on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The Assistant Business Manager will report to the Strategic Business Manager and give support and assistance in non-academic matters to ensure the efficient day-to-day management of the Health & Safety, administration, and site functions.
Duties of the role will include:
Health & Safety
* Assist the Strategic Business Manager with the role of Health & Safety Coordinator and Fire officer
* Assist in the planning, development, design and monitoring of effective Health & Safety administration
* Assist in the communication of the written health & safety policy statement
* In partnership with the Strategic Business Manager, ensure the health & safety policy is implemented at all times, put into practice and is subject to review and assessment at regular intervals or as situations change
* Support the Strategic Business Manager with regular consultations with staff on health & safety issues
* Ensure systems are in place to enable the identification of hazards and risk assessments
* Ensure systems are in place for effective monitoring, measuring and reporting of health and safety
* Ensure the safe maintenance of all premises in partnership with the Strategic Business Manager
Site
* Coordinate the maintenance of the site with the Maintenance and Contracts Administrator
* Assist with the line management of Site Services team and Cleaning team
* Ensure a safe environment for the stakeholders to provide a secure environment
Administration
* Assist with the management of the administrative function and reception function
* Assist in the planning, development, design and monitoring of effective administration processes
* Provide day to day support for the administrative function
* To liaise with the Administrative staff to ensure the database is accurate, maintained and updated on a regular basis
* Working with the Strategic Business Manager to design and maintain administrative systems that deliver outcomes based on our aims and goals
* Support the Strategic Business Manager in managing systems and link processes that interact across the site to form complete systems
* Working with the Strategic Business Manager to establish and use effective methods to review and improve administrative systems
* Assist the Strategic Business Manager to use data analysis, evaluation and reporting systems to streamline and maximise efficiency and avoid duplication recommendations
* Support the Strategic Business Manager to prepare information for publications and returns
Leadership & Management
* To attend Senior Leadership and Senior Management Team meetings
* Support the Strategic Business Manager in negotiation and influencing decision making within the Senior Leadership and Senior Management Teams
* Assist the Strategic Business Manager with planning and change in accordance with the development / strategic plan
* To lead and manage, in partnership with the Strategic Business Manager and support staff
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have experience of managing Health & safety. Relevant education industry experience is not essential, but we do need a strong Health and Safety management background to be able to hit the ground running.
